Carina Simonis, Murchison

Compassionate Support Worker & Future Rural Paediatrician

Hi, I’m Carina, a compassionate and committed disability support worker with a strong foundation in healthcare and a passion for person-centred, inclusive support.

I’m currently training to be a doctor through University of Melbourne’s Rural Clinical School in Shepparton, where I’ve completed all my clinical training to date at the local hospital and GP clinics. My goal is to become a rural paediatrician, and I’m passionate about expanding access to high-quality healthcare for people living in regional areas—both in my future medical career and in my current support work.

Before starting medicine, I completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science in 2022 and a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance in 2017. I also bring both professional and personal experience in caring for people with a wide range of disabilities and mental health conditions. I have a particular interest in working with children, but I truly enjoy supporting individuals of all ages and abilities.

My medical training gives me a unique insight into the healthcare system and the day-to-day impact of various conditions. I aim to provide holistic, respectful care that empowers each person to live with confidence, independence, and dignity.

Outside of work, I live in Murchison with my husband and our two dogs. I love board games, being outdoors, going on adventures, enjoying a good coffee, and having a good chat.
